Azul Roofing Solutions is an Arizona certified applicator of most fluid-applied roof systems. Almost any roof can support a fluid applied system that will strengthen and rejuvenate your existing roof. Fluid-applied roofing systems can restore a deteriorating roof. Roofs that are still functioning can be upgraded with a fluid roof option to be a long-lasting, highly efficient weatherproofing system for a fraction of the cost of a full roof replacement.
Fluid-applied roofing involves the application of a monolithic, fully bonded, liquid-based coating to a roof. The coating cures to form a rubber-like elastomeric waterproof membrane, capable of stretching and returning to its original shape without damage. Such coating systems are usually reinforced with secondary materials, such as glass-reinforced plastic to provide additional strength. Fluid-applied roof coatings, when cured, vary in thickness from about three mils—the same as a single coat of paint—to more than 40 mils.
Roof restoration is an excellent method that has been around for over a half a century. In fact, fluid-applied coating was used to restore the roof of the Superdome in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. These fluid-applied roofing systems are available in a wide variety of colors. Reflective white coatings are popular in Arizona as "cool roofs." By reflecting solar radiation, they lower air conditioning costs and reduce the heat island effect. Not only are you avoiding the tear-off cost and landfill contributions, you are also applying a system that will outlast other environmentally questionable offerings as well as applying a UV reflective coating that will save you money each month! It will cool your livable space down and lower your energy costs. Talk about a "cool roof" in Arizona!
There are also tax advantages to cool roof fluid applied systems as well and they can easily and affordably be maintained!
